Dilworth Home Tour 2007
In keeping with Dilworth’s mixed-use feel, the tour also will feature stops at Elder Gallery (1427 South Blvd.) with Larry and Janice Elder showcasing their personal art collection and offering a wine tasting on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m.; RedSky Gallery (1244 East Blvd.) will offer free pottery to tour guests; and T. Reid and Company salon and spa (429 East Blvd.) will close up shop to mingle with neighbors over lemonade and cookies. It’s an eye for and appreciation of renovation and preservation that has attracted like-minded home and business owners to the neighborhood. “You can come into the salon and imagine living here,” said Kim Stivers, T. Reid and Company’s salon manager. “We made it work. We did what we needed to do without touching the history and the integrity of (the building).” “(These businesses) came to East Boulevard and renovated homes and made them their businesses.
